Extended Care Facility
Boundary Community Hospital's Extended Care Facility is licensed as a 46 bed skilled nursing home. Housed within the larger confines of the hospital, residents have easy access to all medical services including radiology, laboratory, CT scanning, physician services, rehabilitation and emergency services. An expansive multipurpose room was designed to capture the scenic beauty of the area with its 180-degree windowed view.
Professional Care & Activities The Extended Care Facility offers a home-like atmosphere for its elderly residents, providing activities for all levels of debilitation, occupational and speech therapies, staff for physical and psychosocial needs and restorative aides to maintain or help improve residents' strength and flexibility.
The hospital also provides a free transit van with wheelchair accessibility. Home visits, recreational activities and other physician-approved local sightseeing trips are encouraged for both resident and family members. There are few, if any restrictions on visitation times or activities.
Special Unit The Extended Care Facility provides a 10-bed special unit where security is a priority for residents suffering from Alzheimer's or Dementia and who manifest an elopement risk. Residents in the Special Unit are free to wander about the Unit and have access to walking paths outside in the warmer weather. They are encouraged to engage in similar activities as the other non-special unit residents. Certified Nurses Assistants provide very close and caring relationships with our special unit residents.
